Editorial Guidelines

This page explains how we source rate data, how our comparison tables work, how we’re paid, and how we correct mistakes. We publish it so you can judge for yourself how much weight to put on what you read here.
How our comparison tables work
Rates and comparison rates shown on this site come from [Widget Provider Name], a licensed rate-data provider, and are updated [update frequency]. We don’t manually enter or adjust rate figures ourselves, if a rate looks wrong, it’s a data feed issue, not an editorial one, and we want to know about it, see Corrections below.
Comparison rate warning
Comparison rates are calculated on a loan amount of $150,000 over a 25-year term, based on the [standard comparison rate schedule your data provider uses, e.g. Uniform Consumer Credit Code], unless the table you’re viewing states otherwise. Comparison rates for different amounts or terms may result in a different comparison rate. This warning applies to every rate table on this site.
How we’re paid, and how that affects what you see
We may earn a referral fee or commission when a visitor clicks through to a lender or broker and takes out a loan. Where a lender or product appears higher in a table, or is labelled “Promoted” or “Sponsored,” because of a commercial arrangement rather than purely on rate, we disclose that directly next to the listing. We don’t accept payment in exchange for a false or inflated rate figure.
What we don’t do
- We don’t compare every lender in the Australian market. Our tables reflect the lenders our data provider has under agreement.
- We don’t provide personal financial advice or tell you which loan to choose, we show you the numbers so you can decide, or take them to a broker or adviser.
- We don’t guarantee you’ll receive the advertised rate, your actual rate depends on your own financial circumstances and the lender’s assessment of your application.
Author expertise
Articles on this site are written or reviewed by [name/role], see their bio on the About page. Where a guide draws on a specific data source (RBA statistics, ASIC guidance, a lender’s own published rate sheet), we link to that source directly.
